OMG! "Historic moment" on The Price is Right (SPOILER)
Edited on Mon Jun-27-05 11:12 AM by ih8thegop
One person overbid their showcase by about $2000. The other overbvid by just $1. She bid $12,000, but the actual price was $11,999.

Never had anyone overbid by just $1.

:wow:

It was the first time someone missed by $1.

7. FWIW, I don't believe Bob molested anyone...
he had a one time tryst with one of the models after his wife died, he was unmarried, it was initiated by her, and it was sex between two consenting adults.

unless you're referring to some other incident I'm not aware of?

10. wow one dollar!
Has anyone ever bid the showcase exactly right?

It's funny when they both overbid. VEry anti-climatic ending to the show.

15. be careful
There's a whole set of rules for playing that game. One of which is, "never bid an even number during the Showcase Showdown". The showcases are always an oddball number, and you have a greater chance of being within $100 of your bid, thus winning *both* showcases :).

16. The most heartbreaking Showcase Showdown I ever saw....
YEARS ago:
Contestant #1 was a real idiot;
had an amazing 60k showcase
and UNDERBID by 35 thousand...

Contestant #2 was OVER by less than $200 and lost.

27. I love watching that show just for the knuckleheads who...
can't manage to grasp the most rudimentary logic to the bidding process. Everytime I watch it there's one or more dipshit who loses multiple opportunities to make it onstage because they bid, for instance, $700 when the other bids are, for example: $400, $500 and $800... then the actual price is $550.

30. If I ever go on the show and "Come on down"
I'm just going to bid $1 every time. Either that, or some other oddball number between $1-100. After all, in almost every show, they have a case in which every one overbids.
