I was riding on the Mayflower
When I thought I spied some land

I was employed
They let me go right away
They were very paranoid

Well, the last I heard of Arab
He was stuck on a whale
That was married to the deputy
Sheriff of the jail
But the funniest thing was
When I was leavin' the bay
I saw three ships a-sailin'
They were all heading my way
I asked the captain what his name was
And how come he didn't drive a truck
He said his name was Columbus
I just said, "Good luck."

Sorry, feel like being a smartass tonight! I've always loved Dylan, so I have many, many favorites. But one that no one seems to mention anymore is one of his earliest, "Ballad of a Thin Man."

Generally speaking I like the political & cutting social commentaries the best. Few can get me "riled up" like Dylan.

The only FM station on the west coast (that I'm aware of) that plays his more controversial material is KBOO 90.7 FM, Portland, Oregon. Check out the program guide at www.kboo.fm Dharma wheel is great.

27. My favorite Zimmo tune is "Dear Landlord"

I first heard this song the day after doing acid for the first time. Anyone who's ever taken acid knows that the day after is sheer torture; your face feels like it's made of clay, you feel depressed and irritable, your mind is trying to come to grips with everything you learned the night before, and your pores seem to be filled with some kind of spackle....

So as I sat, grinding my teeth in my room, watching TV with the sound off, my mother was in the kitchen doing dishes, listening to "John Wesley Harding" on a boom box. When it was over, I asked her to play this song three more times...it felt like a lifeline, or at least a balm for my aching spinal fluid.
