Am I fickle?
Edited on Mon Jun-27-05 01:19 PM by redqueen
If I'm crushing on someone, and they tell me they've become politically apathetic, and then I suddenly have zero crushy-type feelings anymore... does that mean I'm fickle?

edit to add: This is NOT about the crush subject I posted a thread about last week... this is about a crush that started last October / November.

1. No. It doesn't.
It just means you are now crushing on me. Or wait a minute, maybe Tom Cruise. Ah well, it's either me or Tom. Either way you are not fickle.

2. definitely. I usually have half a dozen reasons for a crush
from their intellect to their heart to their sexy long legs to their flowing tresses to our shared memories and so on. So that even if one of those things is imperfect or changes, we will still have Wenatchee.

ps. Does this mean you are breaking up with me?

3. No, that means you've got discretion. Fickle is when
you're crushing on someone today, someone else tomorrow, someone else's best friend the day after tomorrow, the best friend's better-looking sibling the day after the day after tomorrow....

4. Thanks.
Then I am not fickle.

I warn them that they have to care... if they're dumb enough to tell me they don't, they must not want me crushing on them anymore.

10. "being in love, used to be my favorite thing, I guess
I've been in love, more than anybody else has, I bet
my first love heroically ran the streetcar,
I'd tingle at every clang clang
next I fell for the principal,
but oh that teacher who sang ...

being in love, what a lovely dream, and yet somehow
being in love, is only half of what I'm longing for now
and so then tonight I'll be in there dreaming,
and hoping that that someday they'll be - JUST ONCE -
somebody being in love with me." The Music Man

6. Exactly!
Apathy is one of my BIGGEST turn offs. It's selective, though. If someone's apathetic about Mr. Cruise and his latest whateverthefuck, that's OK.

If I start to discuss the latest SCOTUS rulings and they tell me they're apathetic... I'm out.
