Rader details how he killed 10 people
Killer had 'sexual fantasies' while picking victims
Monday, June 27, 2005; Posted: 4:22 p.m. EDT (20:22 GMT)

WICHITA, Kansas (CNN) -- Dennis Rader, the BTK serial killer who terrorized the Wichita area from the 1970s to the 1990s, pleaded guilty Monday and described in cool and dispassionate detail how he killed 10 people to satisfy his sexual fantasies.

Rader, 60 entered the plea on what was supposed to be the first day of his jury trial, saying a long and drawn out trial would only result in his guilt at the end.

He listened matter-of-factly as Sedgwick County District Judge Greg Waller read him each charge and asked if understood, even stopping Waller to correct him when the judge misread a date from the charge sheet.

Rader said he broke into the home of Joseph and Julie Otero and tied them up along with two of their children.

3. Listen to the whole thing on radio while I was working today....
I live here in Wichita so it was live on a AM station. Most chilling damn thing I've ever heard out of a human. This went on for over and hour as he described murder after murder in the same monotone you'd describe to someone what you did over the weekend.

He wanted caught,we all knew it here in Wichita even after that dog and pony show news conference the Police put on after his capture. His defense lawyers said "he wanted it over" without going into details. He's a cold blooded killing machine without any remorse and he wants all the notoriety he's now getting. I don't think he wanted to die without everyone knowing he's on par with the other big name serial killers like Bundy,Dahmler,Hillside strangler etc--all the "great ones" in his mind.

I'm positive,in his sick perverted world this was probably one of the best days of his life.
