$3.00 gas by August..
I just spoke with my cousin, who after 15 years of running a gas station, got out of the business. He stated he was selling gas for less than what he paid for it for the past 14 months. But that wasn't the big news he told me though.

He claimed that prices are not going to be restrained much longer and that we should expect to see $3.00 by August.. I cannot wait..

I wonder how much more this economy can handle these high prices?a

1. Time for the bus
Actually, I was planning to start taking the bus to work as of July 1st, in part due to gas price. This pretty much clenches it.

5. I've been busing and cycling to work as much as possible...
...for almost a year now. Right now public transportation is a great bargain. Prices will have to go up soon, of course, but it'll still be a good deal. And your car will last longer if you let the bus accumulate the miles. I now try to do most of my driving on one or two days per week only, and bicycle or use public transportation the rest of the time.

6. Good for you
I live in a city and am afraid that if I use the bike to get to work, I'll get hit by cars as they zoom by. But for stops closer to home -- I'll try your suggestion of cycling.

2. it's already $2.60 where I live...
...and I've seen > $3.00/gal (reg. unleaded) prices in other California towns earlier this year. I'll bet we're approacing $3.00 here within 30 days.

3. Well hopefully by August
I'll be moved in somewhere in Richmond so I can just walk to school (Right now I commute 30-35 minutes from 95 South into Richmond to go to V.C.U... and five days a week..... no way I can manage if gas prices go that high)
