Can someone please explain to me how keyloggers get on my hard drive
I am so careful about websites, downloading, use antivirus software and anti-spyware apps. I still get keyloggers. What's wrong with this picture ?

1. Are you behind a firewall & do you use anti-trojanware too?
I recommend both in addition to everything you're already doing.

2. yes, I have both of those. I use my anti-trojanware (TDS)

3. a firewall won't stop keyloggers
by definition, port 80 has to be open when browsing htt protocol sites, https when using encrypted data flows (port 443). The keylogger just transmits through that port(s) because your broswer is configured to allow in and out traffic through the default ports in question.

Tell us more if you want without compromising your privacy; I know a lot about these things...don't ask why...

5. I just hate keyloggers
the thought of an app recording my keystrokes really pisses me off. I'm just an ordinary web surfer. I use Opera 8.01. Have broadband. My OS is Windows XP64 Professional. I have Windows Firewall activated because there are almost no firewalls for 64 bit. My router is a Linksys, and I've tweaked the settings. Any more info that you need ?
