I live in Santa Barbara now and we don't get alot of thunder or lightening here. We are from the midwest and truely miss the crazy storms of the plaines. I love the way a storm makes me feel. Lucky you. Enjoy!

6. It isn't raining yet so I think it's just "heat lightning" as I call it |

3. We had a really big one last week... |
|
right at sunset, around 9 pm. The sky towards the east was blood orange. I can see the tallest building in Portland from my house, there was a rainbow that ended right on top of it and behind it Ithere was a black cloud with lightning...I took some pictures of it, I hope they come out!
Today was blah, it rained (more like drizzled) constantly all day long! In fact in June I think we've only had two sunny days...

I so miss thunderstorms - one of the main things I miss about New England (well, that and the old cemeteries. Oh, and snowmobiling - I have to admit, I miss that).

And I love it here but I do miss the thunderstorms. It cracks me up - when we do get one, it's front page news, even if it's just a minor one. Yet an earthquake that's less than 7 on the Richter scale generally only gets a paragraph on page 10 or so.
Go figure.
