The best reason to watch HBO's Entourage: Jeremy Piven
Edited on Tue Jun-28-05 06:38 AM by LynneSin

This guy has always been a talented actor but he tends to be in supporting roles usually with his best bud John Cusack as romantic lead. But I've always thought Jeremy Piven was this incredible actor and one of my alltime favorite comedies is "PCU" (Here's PCU Trivia - Jeremy's character was a smoker in the movie but he doesn't smoke. So he smoked ground-up dried fruit instead).

Anyhow, Entourage would be a pretty lame comedy on HBO if it wasn't for Piven. He plays this ultra-type-A agent for the lead character Vince who plays a Hollywood heartthrob. But Piven owns that show and hopefully during awards season he'll finally get recognition for his talent!

3. I love PCU, and I think Piven rocks! Part of the DVD library
The s.o. even has taken up the Caine-Hackman theory and twisted it into trying to prove that there's a James Bond movie anytime of the day or night. :P

17. PCU was sweet! Loved the part where Piven met the guy studying Sanskrit
I told a girl who had just gave me her illegible phone number, "what is this, sanskrit?" She was not amused...

"Droz: Want some advice?
Tom: Well, yeah.
Droz: Well, here's all you need to know. Classes: nothing before eleven. Beer: it's your best friend, you drink a lot. Women? You're a freshman, so it's pretty much out of the question. Will you have a car?
Tom: Uh, no.
Droz: Someone on your floor will. Find them and make friends with them on the first day. "

8. Did you ever see the TV show "Cupid"?
It's one of the last network shows I watched regularly. Piven was a guy convinced he was Cupid. It was actually a lot more intelligent then it sounds. I was kind of bummed when it was cancelled after about 8 episodes.

9. LOVED that show--best episode was when he impersonated Dave Matthews....
...or, his character did, anyway...and was signing autographs and (trying to) pick up chicks. Hilarious.

11. Do you remember the one where he thought he was setting up a couple,
but instead he was setting up a heart transplant? Piven was GREAT in that episode.

13. I LOVE that show. The last episodes have been fantastic! The whole
story line with Vince buying Brando's house; the drama over Aqua Man, and NOW di Caprio is IN france talking to Cameron about it, INSTEAD of Vince, holy crap! I just LOVE it!

The references to local hollywood landmarks is HYSTERICAL. Last episode the other chick agent made a crack about going to haul Russell Crowe off the barstool at Tom Bergans had me in a spit take; I'd just been there the night before... old long time hang out.

I'll really plotz if they mention Boardners.

15. Grosse Pointe Blank
When he helps John Cusack get rid of the body of the assassin Cusack just killed, and never even asks what happened, I fell in love with him.

That's friendship. Perfect.

19. I watch that movie over and over
I find it more appealing each time. Joan Cusack is a trip.

Jeremy has a brother - Joshua - who wrote a very clever book, "As Luck Would Have It," that went nowhere when it was published, but is really quite wonderful.

Chicago kids all, huh?
