Why respond to my ad...
if you don't like cats and smoke? (not the same response) Had a response to my ad (not telling where. :P) via wink/icebreaker from a young lady a couple of days ago. I read the text, and down the page, the verbage said that she doesn't like cats. I double-checked my ad to make sure. It says that I have cats. That's almost as bad as the response, "I see that we have a lot in common. I hope that you don't mind that I smoke." I don't smoke.

No, there are no beach pics of me posted. My pic can't be that good. Did I miss something? :banghead:

1. People Don't/Can't Read
Years ago, when I ran my ad, I made it clear I wasn't interested in kids or dating a parent. Still got a lot of responses from daddies or wannabe daddies. A LOT.

On the other hand, the ad did get me my Loved One. That was 13 years ago - we've been together since our first date (which lasted four days).

3. Congrats!
I glad that you found your beloved, I feel better now. I've never wanted to be a parent, but I could be a coach. Being a touch older now (35-50), a lot of women in my age category are parents. I've relaxed some of my restrictions with that in mind, but not all.

11. Change me?
I can dress myself. I'm a big boy. Sorry, I couldn't pass that up.

I've rarely gotten that far (F2F), but when I have, the pics are accurate. I have also seen where the camera can be very...flattering. :spray:

15. a sense of humor is a must
and a love for *coffee dates* .... I never commit to anything more than coffee for a first meeting. I've enjoyed interesting conversations with men I would never go on a second date with AND one truly :scared:odd guy that made me very happy it was a mid-day coffee date.

7. Did you specify you didn't want a smoker?
Just saying you don't smoke is meaningless -- plenty of smokers pair up with non-smokers.

If you did say "no smokers, please," then, yes, she needs to pay attention.

Then again, we're often encouraged to apply for jobs that we may not literally qualify for, if we think we have something to offer. Maybe the women are thinking the same thing?

10. Yes, I did
in the date response section I did say "doesn't smoke."

That's an interesting thought, much like a candidate on an interview.

16. No cat smokers
smoking stunts their growth, you know. Makes it hard to stalk things and have that smoker's hack at the wrong time and scare everything away.

And no smokers of cat. :spray:
