I thought I wanted to see "War of the Worlds".... |
|
..but all this Cruise/Holmes/Scientology crap made me realized I'd rather go see paint dry.
It's sad because I'm such a Steven Spielberg fan. Maybe we WOTW tanks Spielberg will stop using him in films

But they say the ending sucked ass.
For a big budget Speilberg/Cruise film that's usually a pretty bad sign.

7. That is my dilemma right now. |
|
Edited on Tue Jun-28-05 12:11 PM by Hell Hath No Fury
I really, really like Speilberg but I am no huge Cruise fan. My dislike of Cruise predates all the current crap, but his recent antics have left me even colder towards him as a performer.
The last Cruise film I saw was "Minority Report" -- I saw in because of Speilberg and inspite of Cruise.
Do I want to sit through another two hours of Cruise? If Cruise gets a piece of the backend (which I suspect he does) do I want to financially support him after his anti-psych tirade by buying a ticket?
What a quandry... :(

8. I had the same dilema with Russell Crow in "Cinderalla Man." I really |
|
wanted to see it but somehow one human being throwing a telephone in the face of an innocent hotel employee(who BTW had to be taken to the emergeny room but I may be being extra sensitive sinece I worked in hotels for 11 years)just disgusted me so much that I simply have written ole' Russel off of my list FOREVER.

|
If the movie looks (looked) good to you, go see it.

11. I heard he is good and it is good, until the 3rd act, that the pacing is |
|
all of and the whole third has too much stuff happening in it, way to fast.

Tom Cruise can't act, period. And how could it be any better than the original version? I'll probably go see the Enron movie, which is still playing locally.

I'm not crazy about Sci Fi and find Tom Cruise terribly annoying.... why blow $27.50 on a large popcorn just for that??

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/war_of_the_worlds/I could care less about stars' personal lives. If a movie is good, I'm there. And Spielberg's the master. I'm taking Finnfan Jr. on Friday. :bounce:

I've always loved that movie, since I was kid, & couldn't wait for Spielberg's take on it. I can see it for free, but I'm still hesitant, thanks to Mr. Cruise & his antics. I think you have to see it on the big screen to appriciate it, but I may wait.
