Knock, knock
Mormon dudes at the door. I'm not presentable, so asked ten-year-old son to tell them we're busy. Oh no! He let our pet out!:

7. I fear. I better get him out in the back yard.
Dress trousers, neckties and backpacks must be indigestible.

3. My dog actually urinated on the trousers of some Mormons once.
They were pretty nice about it, but it was really awkward.

4. I get mormons all the time.
I never really know what to say to them. I don't know enough about them to know really what to do. I don't like people knocking on my door wanting to give me a message from Jesus. They are very helpful with genealogy research since they have catalogued and saved the souls of everyone they could name. And there is the South Park episode that is just too funny in so many ways. They look like a nice bunch of well meaning people. I never hear about mormon sponsored violence. I know they have tonnes of money. So why do we shunn them?

9. Hi, welcome to DU
Mormons are well meaning people, brainwashed but well meaning. Once you start talking with the missionaries, they start making appointment to come over. They leave the book of Mormon, short promo films, slick, glossy, brochures. They can be difficult to disengage from, when they start a dialog, they ask you if you have proof that their version is refutable. They start taking you to church and introducing you to their Elders, Deacons, Priests, and Bishop. All are hard-sell on the Church. They believe they are the only True Church. They have the fullness of the gospel, Temple rituals to endow followers with blessings that ordinary people can't have like eternal marriage, special celestial real estate above & beyond others who aren't Endowed, special anointing with protection magically transfered into your undergarments, rituals to make the dead relatives, Mormons, fancy baptism by emergence when you are eight, Family Home evening every Monday night at home, Relief Society, on Wednesday, visiting teaching and home teachers during the week, almost everyone has a job teaching Sunday school, or being some leader of some division, Church is 3 hours on Sunday broken up into separate womens' and men's meetings, a Sunday School lesson and a Sacrament Meeting for a communion type service. Only the good can take sacrament with all it's special blessings. So in some ways it's like any church but in other ways it is strange and unique.

11. Hi, Lilyhoney, I like your name
I don't really shun anyone. Last summer I gave the Mormon missionaries lemonade and we sat on the porch discussing religion. I just don't really want people to waste their time trying to convert me.

I appreciate their genealogy research, too.

A couple of months ago a couple hustled after my husband, son and me on a narrow sidewalk saying "Don't you want to have everlasting life?" I turned to see "The Watchtower" being held out by some Jehovah's Witnesses working the area, and said "No, thanks. One life is plenty for me."

6. No, not amphibian. Reptilian.
How would salamanders do that?
