I went to Brainerd, Minnesota today.

Drove up there with my brother. It's really nice up there. I hadn't been there in over 10 years, and I was amazed at all the chain businesses they built there. They built a Best Buy, Quizno's, Applebees, Target, OfficeMax, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Caribou Coffee, Kohl's, and lot's of other places. But I wanted to go up there to drive around Gull Lake. That town is amazing with all the growth that has happened there. It was unbelieveable.

I see on the Atlas that it is. I probably was there thirty years ago.
Apparently another little town that Wal-mart has not killed, but you do not notice all the independent businesses that are no longer there.
