As promised, I played the Bush Speech Drinking Game last night...
with a bottle of Chivas Regal. The results were devastating. Using the rules found here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x1892145

Three highball classes filled with cracked ice and fine Scotch were gone within the brief duration of the speech. I found myself blathering angrily at the TV by the end. Terrible, terrible.

On the plus side, CNN's post-speech coverage was shockingly anti-Bush. I laughed heartily at Paula Zahn saying in an almost mockingly surprised tone how many times the president mentioned 9/11. It was exquisite, and it almost made me forgive Zahn's credulousness on so many other occasions. Almost.

good politically to use 9/11 only thing bush has, to yes he is lying, WE all know he is lying, but it is a good lie for him to use to get support. just outrageous. about the only news i was able to stomach. oh and later enjoyed two journalist, times and newsweek going after the 9/11 connection

btw, hows the hangover, lol lol

6. What hangover?
I write a music column, which means I spend my life in bars. Devil Alcohol and I are old friends. Besides, Chivas Regal is fine Scotch Whisky. It's good on the head. I'd be more worried about Mr. Jim Beam in the first post.

Although, one time in college, I dressed as Jim Morrison for Halloween (leather pants, billowy shirt, wig, and bottle if Jim Beam), and I managed to get through about two bottles of the stuff with minimal headache the next day. Of course, that night I was screaming and jumping up on the kitchen table at some poor guy's house party, but that's the price you pay...

3. Funny, now this morning CNN...

...is saying that *** got a bump in the polls. I guess that was expected, and will wear off.

Congrats on completing the game. We should have more around like you!

8. I must admit I didn't, I couldn't force myself to watch it.
Felt I needed some higher intellectual stimulation.

Went to see "Herbie" last night, instead.

11. Hey thanks! But save the recommends for my Reagan article...
Which I'll be posting later today, after my paper hits the stands. It's a rant about the Discovery Channel's election of Reagan as the greatest American of all time. I am very proud.
