Poll question: How much do movie tickets cost near you? |
Movie tickets used to be $3 here. Now they're $8. And the MPA wonders why movie attendance is at a 20 year low... Add to that the price of snacks- a large soda used to be $2. Now it's $6.
P.s. prices is USD.

4. around $9, but it's not the price that keeps me out of the theater |
it's the inconsiderate dipwads who bring little kids and pre-teens who don't get that it's not a freakin' slumber party.
Of course at the theater I can't drink, smoke, pause to go pee, lay down or watch in my birthday suit. An LCD TV and Netflicks.

6. You don't have to pay extra to sit near me. |
Just the usual eight bucks. But you must remain quiet, and don't hound me for autographs.

7. It depends on where we go.... |
If it's stadium seating, surround sound and in a "trendy" part of town, anywhere from $10,$12 even $14. Also, the indies are normally $10. The cheapest I've paid in I can't remember when was $8 and that was a matinee!

8. There is this terrible theater here that still has movies for $2.50 |
They play movies at this place after they are out on video. Lots of stoners go there. It is an exciting place.

12. It was $7.75 last time I went. |
But you're pretty much in the same vicinity as me, so the prices would be similar.

14. Fairly decent range of prices |
6 for matinee, 9 something regular prices most places and 10 whenever i go for an indie or anything in nyc. fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, there has been little in recent months to spend any money on let alone 10 bucks.
