Dallas vs Washington Game Thread |
|
Edited on Sun Nov-02-03 04:46 PM by Cush
Washingron leads 6-0, Coles with a TD, extra point blocked.
Redskins just had it 3rd and 1....and they run a pass play. And what happens? Ramsey gets sacked for the 3rd time....and its still the 1st quarter!

The Boys are lucky they have a great defense or otherwise they would be behind big.

Washington would be a lot better off if the NFL went from 4 downs to 3. Washington always allows the opposing teams to convert on 3rd an long

The CFL only uses 3 downs, and I think overall a more exciting game.
But I am pulling for my beloved Redskins to pull through this one.

Offensive line cannot pickup blitzes on it's own. You have to keep guys in the box, that is why you have fullbacks and tightends.
Every team in the NFL uses extra blockers......except spurriers redskins.

blitzes and it's not just the game, all the way to the Jets game and Trung Candidate could never pick up blitzes(he is not playing today) but not just with the Skins, but with the Rams and the Arizona Wildcats in college and their other rbs can't either. Plus alot of times when a team blitzes it leaves recievers opens, a qb should know the recievers routes in his mind and get rid of the ball before they get to him. Alot of the blame goes on Ramsey for holding on the ball too long, I am watching this game because it is the only NFL game on right now in this area.

do overload blitzes which is impossible to stop but can be countered by a quick pass or a draw play and it is Ramsey's job to get rid of the ball, alot of times I seen him hold on to the ball to long and not step up in the pocket.

Dallas D held them though. I think 3 out of the 4 times they turned it over in Redskins territory and the one time they turned the ball over in Cowboys territory the Redskins scored. But the Redskins need a QB but I don't mean the Redskins should go after someone else, Ramsey is still young and could improve, Spurrier has only been the coach for 1 and half years so it could take awhile for Spurrier to get the players he wants and once he does judge Spurrier from how he does when he has the players he needs.

Parcells has been in dallas 1/2 of a year, dallas is 5-2, leading their division, and they keep saying parcells doesn't have his type of players on this team.
Parcells is a better coach than Steve, but let's be real, he's not like infinitely better.

Spurrier has only 1 1/2 years of NFL experience and plus the Cowboys have a very talented secondary and recieving core with solid players all around. Scuse me but Parcells has the players to succeed.

23. John Fox has been coaching in the nfl for the same amount as spurrier |
|
Carolina is 6-2, and Carolina has the runningback spurrier had last season. Carolina's defensive line is phenomenal, however, the skins linebacking crew is the most talented right now, plus spurrier has a pretty good receiving corps too. You know what the difference between Fox and Spurrier? Fox is a good coach on a shitty team. Spurrier is a shitty coach on a good team. Spurrier is the problem. It's not Ramsey, it's not the linebackers. And as I write this TOUCHDOWN DALLAS.
Here is why spurrier is a shitty coach:
The redskins backup has never EVER thrown a pass in a regular season game. They cut rob johnson, and fucked up their signing of danny wuerful. Oh yeah, the skins didn't dress a third string qb.

John Fox was an assistant coach for several years in the NFL, Spurrier came straight from the NCAA. Carolina is a shitty team? Rotflmao, they had a great defense even last year. Plus with the signing of Stephon Davis just made them a better team, plus were where you when the 'Skins were 3-0? There is still lots of games to be played in this season and by no means the season is over with. I did not say the linebackers were the problem, they have a great linebacker crew and Ramsey STILL NEEDS TO IMPROVE AS A QB, he is only a second year player and still has many years to improve and fit Spurrier's system. As I write this Ramsey just overthrew wide open Coles, just think if he would've caught the ball which just proves my point. Ramsey is their only flaw but can still improve.
The redskins backup has never EVER thrown a pass in a regular season game. They cut rob johnson, and fucked up their signing of danny wuerful. Oh yeah, the skins didn't dress a third string qb.
What does that have to do with anything? Ramsey doesn't get injured and alot of the transactions taken plus are due to the GM, not the coach. Like TJ said, wait till Spurrier gets the players he wants then judge him.

There is always hope if the Redskins can't come back. The Boys will have to be in DC, and it won't be pretty.
Meanwhile, I am wondering what is gonna happen next week when they play the Seahawks? I heard Matt Hasselbeck's (Seattle QB) kid brother is a backup QB for the Redskins. I hope there won't be a "Brother Act"....

I've had it with this coach, he blames his players, and it's his fault the team is bad.
Tell me the truth if you were Patrick Ramsey would you keep playing? I would refuse and simpley state the FACT, I AM NOT PLAYING IF YOU REFUSE TO PROTECT ME. I wouldn't destroy a future lucrative career because my coach is a hard headed asshole.

The Redskins have gone through coaches every year that he has owned the team. It needs stability.
They need to give Spurier at least one more. Otherwise, by shifting coaches every year, you are not going to have a team that is consistent enough to win.

But changing coaches every year is not the answer because then you have a new system. You have to get used to a new system, develop it, and again start over.

Alot of times players miss their assignments and get chewed out during film study, it is the players fault they miss assignments and how do you know they don't practice it? Are you a Redskins assintant coach? Plus yes Trung Candidate (who isn't playing) had problems picking up on blitzes all the way back to college, Stephen Davis was good at picking up blitzes but Snyder released him.
