Poll question: Favorite Crosby, Stills & Nash number (with or without Young)? |
|
Edited on Thu Jun-30-05 02:41 AM by undisclosedlocation
Edit: Clarified subject line
Editedit: Our House replaces Southern Cross; Carry On replaces Wasted on the Way; Other added. Apologies to fans of those songs, but we seem to be dedicated to the older material 'round here.:D

1. I completely misread the title |
|
as "favorite cosine (+/-Y) number" and couldn't figure out what it meant...especially since no value is given for Y...

2. I probably have enough space to write out the names |
|
or at least the "plus or minus"; we'll see what'll fit on the subject line

3. I voted for Sweet Judy Collins |
|
:7
Suite: Judy Blue Eyes, but I like all of the CSN stuff; Neil didn't really help the harmonies IMO, though he did bring great writing.

Nor "Our House" from the next post, nor "Long Time Gone." Were it a more sociable hour, I'm sure I'd be hearing about dozens of songs that people can't believe I left off. I'll probably add all these mentioned assuming there are sufficient numbers of tunes with no votes on the poll about 20 minutes hence.

is "Our House" but I also really dig Suite: Judy Blue Eyes, which is Stephen Still's masterpiece

9. I went with Suite Judy... |
|
I like most all of their stuff and I don't usually like to go with "the hit" or the obvious choice, but it's just such a great friggin' song in every way, shape, and form.
And replacing Southern Cross with Our House is just sacrilege.

10. Sacrilege might be a little strong |

I really love Southern Cross, but even I can recognize that Stills phoned in the vocals more than a little. Also it didn't get a vote in nearly an hour, and Our House did within minutes of being added, so...

It usually gets my vote for saddest song ever, but coming from me that isn't necessarily a criticism.

23. Either Ohio or Southern Cross |
|
Speaking of Southern Cross, the cover art for the Daylight Again album is probably one of my favorite album covers.
