What wonderful news! I got married 3 years ago, and remember how daunting all of it felt for a good long while. All the planning, decisions, etc. sometimes made it difficult to keep my eye on the fact that this was a wonderful time in my life, and one to be enjoyed. It sounds like you and your future MIL have a good relationship, if you are going around looking at venues... That is great! One good tip: I got so overwhelmed with magazines and pictures that represented the 'look' I wanted, that I started cutting them out, and pasting them into an over-sized blank book. I put section tabs to designate flowers, dresses, shoes, etc. and took that book with me everywhere when I was talking to vendors. It was so much easier to show them a picture of what I had in mind than describing what I was after. They each remarked that they hadn't seen anything like that, but thought it was a good idea, and really helped both of us communicate about what I wanted. Have fun!!!
