Spirit in the sky comes to your computer

When I die and they lay me to rest
Gonna go to the place that's the best
When I lay me down to die
Goin' up to the spirit in the sky

Goin' up to the spirit in the sky
That's where I'm gonna go when I die
When I die and they lay me to rest
I'm gonna go to the place that's the best

Prepare yourself, you know it's a must
Gotta have a friend in Jesus
So you know that when you die
He's gonna recommend you
To the spirit in the sky
Gonna recommend you
To the spirit in the sky
That's where you're gonna go when you die
When you die and they lay you to rest
You're gonna go to the place that's the best

Never been a sinner, I never sinned
I got a friend in Jesus
So you know that when I die
He's gonna set me up with
The spirit in the sky
Oh set me up with the spirit in the sky
That's where I'm gonna go when I die
When I die and they lay me to rest
I'm gonna go to the place that's the best
Go to the place that's the best

2. Sounds like a good way to make Jesus withdraw his recommendation
I noticed that too and it bugged me. Evidently good old Norman was too busy smoking the doobies to bone up on his theology. Paul's epistles to the Romans would have been particularly helpful to him.

3. Still a great song though.
Maybe he just meant that his sins aren't reckoned as such anymore.

hey, I'm reaching.

11. As one who played this on the radio when it was new...
.... PERHAPS his tounge was nestled in his cheek a bit during this song.

8. Nothing personal....
but when and where did you grow up if you think that is the hardest rock song ever?
Try "Dazed and Confused" by LZ.

9. tell me with a straight face...
that Spirit doesnt have the roughest riff going. Plus it takes some serious stones to sing a song as lame as that. Hardcore.

10. I will agree with you about the balls part....
but Jimmy Page's finger work is phenomical, not to mention probably some of the greastest drum work in ALL of music.
But to each his own. I will give Spirit a closer listen to.
