2-5" of the white stuff coming down today!!!
Central MN. Damn, I have a feeling we're gonna get a LOT of snow this winter, if we're starting out this early in the year. Last year we didnt have any snow until well past Thanksgiving. Anyone else have snow on the ground yet?

2. Snow? Oh, when you said "white stuff", I thought you meant
Bolivian Marching Powder. I thought, 'Man, The Smirking chimp is gonna love that. Be a nice change from the sauce.'

4. What is this "snow" that people keep referring to?
Here, when it snows at your house, it means that you are risking a visit from the DEA, or narcotics task force. Believe me - when they crash a party, they CRASH a party! Either that, or Shrub* is coming for a visit and you've stocked up. :D

13. Snow
I could see how you would be confused by this term. I know that you, like me, are from Texas. I will do my best to explain it to you. You see in other places, when it gets cold outside (that would be when the tempature on the thermometer gets below 32 degrees F) and it rains, the water gets all freezy in the air and comes down looking something like instant mashed potatos. They say that you can eat this so-called "snow" except when it is yellow.

Seriously though, it is currently 77 and overcast here in Dallas today. I WISH it would get cold. I'd like to have something other than 2 seasons. The unbeaerably hot season and the kinda cold wet and crappy season. One lasts about 11 months. The other lasts about 1 month. Problem is that it is 30 days spread out in random order.

14. Ahhhh...I seem to recall that from my youth.
Back in the '70s, I lived in a place where this white stuff would fall from the sky. Illinois the elders called it. I left when I was 8; never to return (in winter anyway).

15. I know of this as well...
When I was but and unweened pup, my tribe lived for a short time in a faraway land known as Nebraska. Though i was quite young, I do recall the white stuff on the ground as well. Alas, the matron of my clan was from the scorchy southern land of San Antonio, as was all her kin. We returned to her homeland when the patriarch of the clan decided to begin walking with a 19 year old maiden instead of the 26 year old one he already had.

16. Ouch!
The patriarch of my clan decided (at the insistance of the matriarch of my clan) that he would forgo retirement to his ancestral home (the aforementioned Illinois) and stay where the weather was warm, the taxes low and the house paid for.

18. wise are the matriarchs at times...
I to am now a matriarch. My small clan has agreed that the land of heat and humidity is no longer a good land to build our home upon. The other tribes of this land are hostile and the weather gods are fierce. The good man that I walk with has taken up a new skill. He will be the maker of moving cave drawings for the amusement of the others. We have heard of another land, where the air is goodly and mild. They call this faraway place, San Francisco. When the patriarch completes his learning in the skill of making moving cave drawings, we will collect our meager belongings and make the long journey to this new land. We hear tell that the clans of this new land are not as fierce as the ones in our current land.

8. Just under 80 here in Pennsylvania, too
Indian summer is nice, but this is getting a little silly. The people down the street still have roses blooming.

Still, it beats 45 degrees and sleeting, which is what we normally expect out of November.

11. I have family in Oklahoma.....
After having visited that state I have determined that I would rather deal with the cold then most of the people that live there. Present company excluded of course.

So its time to buy a new shovel. It will be a harsh year up here in Minny.
