Represent your college in this thread!!!
Who do you cheer for??

NDSU BISON, BABY!!!

On the plains of North Dakota
Standing there for all to see,
Is an old abandoned outhouse
And they call it "University" (UND)

Hail the Bison, Hail the Bison
With our tails up in the air!
University, University, (UND)
You can kiss what's under there!

Bison once, Bison twice,
Kicking ass is mighty nice
GOOOO BISON!!!!

upstream, downstream, Rutgers rah!

Oh my father sent me to old Rutgers
resolved that I should be a man, (very awkward for us females!)
so I settled down in that old college town
on the banks of the old Raritan.

On the banks of the old Raritan, my boys,
where Rutgers evermore shall stand
for has she not stood since the time of the Flood
on ther banks of the old Raritan.

29. We actually offered to play any sport against a UMKC team, just for fun.
But, since we were artists, we wouldn't have to follow the rules.
No takers.
So, we dug a mud-wrestling pit for ourselves.

10. University of Wisconsin Stevens Point

2003-2004 and 2004-2005 NCAA Men's DIII Basketball Champions

And Home to the Infamous Rowdy Crowd, a group of students and alumni whose mission is to stand (not sit) in the student section and make the Opposing team's goalie's time at the K.B. Willet Ice Arena a living hell!

The post Pointer goal ritual:

sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!
Sieve! Sieve! Sieve! Sieve, Sieve, Sieve, Sieve, SieveSieveSieveSieveSieve!

(Tune: There's a hole in the bucket)
There's a Hole in your goalie
(Name of opposing school),
(Name of opposing school),
There's a hole in your goalie,
(Name of opposing school)
A HOLE!
You suck as a goalie,
(Goalie's name),
(Goalie's name),
You suck as a goalie,
(Goalie's name)
YOU SUCK!

(Tune: Mary had a Little Lamb)
(Goalies name) is a great big sieve,
great big sieve,
great big sieve!
(Goalies name) is a great big sieve,
he lets the puck go by.

Goalie name is chanted five times folowed by the word "SUCKS!"

Some links to more of the Rowdy Crowd's Cheers: (note: some of the more un-PC chants and jeers from bygone times are not in regular use anymore, but are included for history's sake.)

And a couple for those FIB asshats from Lake Forest, (who will, BTW pay royally for knocking us out of the playoffs last season.)

Slash and burn,
slash and burn,
clear cut Illinois!

I'm a Forester from Illinois,
I like to play hockey with all of the boys.
I shoot,
and skate,
and sometimes pass--
Too bad the Pointers gonna kick my ass!

Through three of their eight Division II Basketball titles.

ESPN TO FEATURE KENTUCKY WESLEYAN
Top 10 college basketball powerhouses documentary to air in September

Eight-time NCAA Division II Champion Kentucky Wesleyan College will be featured in September on ESPN for a documentary on the "Top 10 College Basketball Powerhouses".

An ESPN production crew came to campus on June 14 and 15 to interview former and current coaches, players and staff along with supporters.

The Panthers are the only non-Division I member on the special presentation. The other nine institutions are Duke, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan State, North Carolina and UCLA, plus the women's programs at Connecticut and Tennessee.

The date of the broadcast will be announced in August or September.

Kentucky Wesleyan won the NCAA titles in 1966, 1968, 1969, 1973, 1987, 1990, 1999 and 2001.

35. It's a tough question to answer.
When I went and it was 14,000 a year, that seemed like a lot of money. Now that seems like a good deal. Is it 40k per year now? Unfathomable. I would not want to graduate from school with that kind of debt.

I think there are resources of people, material and opportunities that are often available at elite (and expensive) colleges that are not so easily available elsewhere. But it's also possible to get a good education at a place that costs less, if you work hard, make demands on your professors and seek out similarly motivated and interesting people.

I think that there are a lot of people running around who did not get into an Ivy League School because of the numbers (admission rates or finances) who spend their lives wondering if they have missed out on something in life that can't be duplicated or substituted. I don't think so.

I guess what it comes down to is that an Ivy League or similar school is an opportunity to take advantage of if it's available. But if it is out of reach, there are other ways of creating a rewarding experience. I always feel bad when people expend significant energy wringing their hands if they didn't go to an Ivy. It's not worth the energy.

But whether or not it is worth the money. It's worth the money if you have the money or if you are confident that you can make the money. But it won't make the money for you.

Hope that isn't too meandering...

22. The Eyes of Texas are Upon You
All 50,000 of you. Yes indeed. I don't think Austin would be Austin without the small city within it that is The University of Texas.

Their motto should be "The University of Texas: Learn How to Queue."

And to end my salute, here's our school song, which any stalker would enjoy:

The eyes of Texas are upon you,
All the live-long day.
The eyes of Texas are upon you,
You cannot get away.
Do not think you can escape them,
At night or early in the morn.
The eyes of Texas are upon you,
Till Gabriel blows his horn.

HOOK 'EM!

"We're Marching On"

We are marching on 'neath the Purple and Gold;
We are singing a song that will never grow old.
All the Sons and Daughters of Western, today, go marching on.
W-E-S-T-E-R-N Yea! Western

Hail to Western, true and loyal,
We are here to win this day.
When you see those conqu'ring heroes
Marching down the way (Rah! Rah! Rah!)
Ev'ry heart and voice will sing this melody of vict'ry's song:
Fling out the Purple and the Gold, We're Marching On.
