Recommend some good mafia/crime movies |
|
OK, I love both Godfathers (the third can barely be considered one), Goodfellas...I also liked Scarface (ok that's a guilty addmission - it's not as classy but entertaining).
What are some more?

2. Great British crime flick |

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch is good too but you can't understand much of what Brad Pitt says. American crime movies that I reccommend...The Usual Suspects and Reservoir Dogs.

3. The Long Good Friday... |
|
I think that's the title. It's a Brit gangster film. Bob Hoskins plays a mob boss and he's damn good, trying to figure our why his guys are getting killed.

it's not a standard mob film, esp. since Tarantino wrote it. But it does have Christopher Walken as a sicilian mob boss and Dennis Hopper as an ex-cop. And, fairly briefly, Gary Oldman as a wonderful lunatic villain. Tarantino was supposed to have been very angry over this film because it did not include the ending he wrote.

It's a Godfather spoof starring the late, great Lloyd Bridges and it's fucking hilarious.
I'd also recommend The Sopranos S1 if you're in the mood for a 13 hour crime movie.

"Little Caesar" Edward G. Robinson Edit: someone mentioned it so Ill replace it with "King of New York" with Christopher Walken.
A funny mob comedy is "Things Change" with Joe Mantegna and Don Ameche written and directed by David Mamet.
Its a Cop/Mob flick but "The Seven Ups" with Roy scheider is good made by the same guy who did "The French Connection"
