I think somebody just tried to break in my apartment!
I heard someone messing with my door, so I turned on my outside light and thought I heard somebody quickly go down the stairs. I opened my door, which has another protective screen outside it, and didn't see anything though. My windows would be easy to pry open though. I have when I was locked out before. I lock my bedroom door when I sleep just in case somebody gets through my windows. We've had lots of thefts and car break ins in my complex lately. Two months ago, I chased a guy who tried to steal a bike I had borrowed. I woke up at 4 am and heard something. I chased him down the steps, ready to throw a beating down and he dropped it and ran. He would have gotten away if he took off on it but the chain was slipped off. Lucky me!

Every once in awhile we get some brutal murders around here, so I'm pretty wary about being safe nowadays. You have to be.

4. from my days as a serious wrestler I know some judo, lots of
sambo and jiu-jitsu, I can break arms and legs, choke people out.

I think it was a drunk trying to get into his apartment. A few of my neighbors drink a lot and they always mistake the wrong apartment for their own. I saw a few people stumbling around a bit ago.

We have a security guard too. But he's rather inept.

5. yeah, I'm pretty sure it was a drunk trying to open his own apartment
I hear my neighbors on the other side of my apartment moving around, it must have been one of them.

2. Call 9-1-1.
It's your best bet. Someone could still be in the area, staking the place out.
Tell them that it is a break-in in process (easiest way to explain it). They will send someone over.
