Was told I was over-qualified yesterday
After the end of a really good interview the interviewer said "I'm afraid that you might be over-qualified." I sat in shock for just a second and came back with a good response about how I can use my experience in the job and that what the job is is what I am looking forward to doing blah blah blah.

I just couldn't believe that they said that. I hope I get the job because I so want a job closer to my home.

Yuck! How can a good interview be bad :(

1. Translation:
"We aren't prepared to pay you what you're worth"

3. I hear you
I told them I would accept below what I am making now... and that perked their interest... but it still might be too high for what they are looking for.

2. At least
you are not in over your head like your interviewer.

4. If there can be a bright spot
I guess that is it. My brother told me last night that both interviewers were afraid that I'd be having their jobs in a year or so if I got the job.

5. I was told that I was "overqualified" -- to be a public school teacher!!
How in the hell can you be too qualified to teach elementary school children? You're too smart?! You know too much?! You belong in world-renowned universities?!

Keep on plugging. You're find your niche soon.

6. Been there
Sometimes its better to leave out some things on your resume that might get you that tag depending on what job you are applying for.
