Connecticut DUers - anybody for a July 30 meetup in Middletown?
LynnZ proposed (in the not-quite-dead-yet Connecticut room) getting together in Middletown on July 30 at 11am at O'Rourke's Diner. Anybody out there interested?

(This was Chavez' idea from last year, but it never happened...)

1. sinking like a stone...
I'm sure if somebody more popular than me had posted, it might have gotten a response by now.

9. Sounds fun, but...
I work 7pm-7:30am every night July 29-31st, so I'm out. Maybe if we had it around 4:30, I could stop by before work, but 11am is completely out (for that weekend anyway) for me. :(

12. I used to live in Middletown,
20 years ago. Nice place, but has probably changed quite abit. Were a couple of bars that i used to go to, but can't remember their names. They were down by the river.

13. I make it up to CT quite often.
That's where my fam's from. If I'm up that way in that time period. I'd def. make it out.

I would suggest meeting somewhere besides O'Rourke's though....it's pretty cramped. Eli's across the street? Great beer selection.

17. And now, Chichiri performs "Middletown Dreams" by Rush
The office door closed early
The hidden bottle came out
The salesman turned to close the blinds
A little slow now, a little stout
But he's still heading down those tracks
Any day now for sure
Another day as drab as today
Is more than a man can endure

Dreams flow across the heartland
Feeding on the fires
Dreams transport desires
Drive you when you're down
Dreams transport the ones who need to get out of town

The boy walks with his best friend
Through the fields of early May
They walk awhile in silence
One close, one far away
But he'd be climbing on that bus
Just him and his guitar
To blaze across the heavens
Like a brilliant shooting star

The middle aged Madonna
Calls her neighbor on the phone
Day by day the seasons pass
And leave her life alone
But she'll go walking out that door
On some bright afternoon
To go and paint big cities
From a lonely attic room

Dreams flow across the heartland
Feeding on the fires
Dreams transport desires
Drive you when you're down
Dreams transport the ones who need to get out of town

It's understood
By every single person
Who'd be elsewhere if they could
So far so good
And life's not unpleasant
In their little neighborhood

Dreams flow across the heartland
Feeding on the fires
Dreams transport desires
Drive you when you're down
Dreams transport the ones who need to get out of town
Dreams transport desires
Drive you when you're down
Dreams transport the ones who need to get out of town

They live in Middletown
They dream in Middletown

20. Mrs R and I have been talking about having something
at our house, but probably won't be able to do so until after Labor Day.

We're always in Vermont or Canada in the beginning of August or so.
