Who else prefers their love stories in fantastical settings (books/film)?
Star-crossed lovers. Tortured knights. Chaste maidens. Doomed romances set against crumbling worlds. Glorious melodrama. If such is your pleasure, name your sentimental favorites.

Literature: Milton's "Paradise Lost"--Home to sublime poetry, and the subtext to Adam's eating of the Fruit, opting to suffer damnation with his beloved rather than living in paradise alone, stays with you for a bloody long time.

Film: "House of Flying Daggers"--Simply the most beautiful cinematic tone poem I've ever seen.
