5. Same here, I have the Google one.
But it just kind of sits there, and I still go to the Google site.
Hm. Maybe I'll try using it more often.

9. I don't use one, but...
you might check out the A9 toolbar, too. http://toolbar.a9.com/

(a9 is a relatively new search engine, with more options to narrow your search...you can restrict it to books, movies, music, reference sites, and Wikipedia, among others)

10. Firefox has ...
Edited on Thu Jul-07-05 10:25 PM by BattyDem

a great feature - up in the top right corner of the browser, there's a search box and you can add "plugins" for search engines and various other sites - like Google, Yahoo, Dictionary.com, Amazon.com, etc. I currently have 25 plugins installed.

I can type what I want in the box and choose the appropriate engine. But ... I recently added an extension called "Context Search" which allows me to use any one of those installed engines by highlighting a word or a phrase, right-clicking on it and choosing the search engine I want to use. It is soooo convenient!

If I read an article about an actor and I want to know more about him, I just highlight his name and choose the IMDB.com engine.

If I come across an acronym I'm not familiar with, I highlight it and go straight to Acronym.com.

Of course, I can highlight anything and easily Google it! :D

I had the Googlebar for a while, but this beats it!

If you have Firefox and you want to add some search engine plugins, you can get them here:

http://mycroft.mozdev.org/download.html

Some of my favorite plugins are Google, Google Images, Google News, Wikipedia, WebMD, Dictionary.com, Thesaurus.com, Bartleby.com, Amazon.com and IMDB.com. There are also plugins for tracking packages at UPS, USPS, DHL and FedEx. :-)

edited ... typo :eyes:
