8. I Don't Recognize The Piece Of Music... But It's... |

... some chamber music. Strings only, violin, viola, cello. Pleasant enough to listen to... but it's getting old.

5. There is only one way to get a hold of those people quick |
|
Hold off on one payment and they will somehow find a real person to call you 10 times a day.

6. Or Push 1, 3 4, 5 9: Then hold. Then Push 1, 2, 4, 5 7, Then Hold. |
|
Repeat. Then when your call is "finally" picked-up, it's another computer-generated voice.

14. I'm Always Amused When I'm Asked To Punch-In My Account Number... |
|
... then when someone FINALLY answers the line, they ASK ME FOR MY ACCOUNT NUMBER (WTF?!?)
For what reason did they need me to enter my account number unless it was so the operator would ALREADY (and automatically) have my account information ready whenever they answered my call?
Silly people! Idjits.

15. Really! Now I respond w/"You don't know?" |
|
And how about those mentions of "this call may be monitored for learning purposes..." Yeah, to learn more about you and how better to protect themselves. Nothing like being treated like the enemy by the very companies you give your money to, huh.

|
But I actually spent a couple years working with a department that did quality control on these calls. The recordings did actually get used for that purpose, as well as legal proof of transactions.

Kidding with my local phone co., I said "Wait, this call is being monitored or recorded for learning purposes."
She laughed. Lately, I'm getting a lot of positive feedback from so many, and in the least likely places, both on the phone and off.
Thanks for responding! Luv positive notes.

I detested actually working on the phone, but some people really enjoy it, and make a decent living that way. It wasn't for me. But I did learn an awful lot at that job, once I got off the phones, about database building and maintenance, about recording software, and legal and quality monitoring!
You're welcome!

19. I have learned not to trust the account number that pops up |
|
on my phone system. sometimes it is the customer's phone number. Sometimes they just put in anything to get past the phone voice. sometimes we don't get a number at all.
If a number comes up, I usually say "May I verify that your account number is.......?"
