Computer/Video ? : Sound, no video...help! |
Ok, I have an .avi on my computer that played fine a few months ago, but when I try to play it now, I get great sound, but no video. This is the same in RealPlayer and Winamp. Ideas? Is all hope lost?

1. Did you happen to download the AOL video player recently? |
I did last night and have been having streaming problems with WMP ever since.

3. The only thing I can think of is.. |
Right click on desktop, Properties>Settings tab>Advanced>Troubleshoot>Adjust Hardware acceleration
See if that does anything.

4. sounds like you need a codec |
If it used to play OK but now doesn't, somehow the codec was moved/lost/etc. I just downloaded this for Winamp, plays .avi files great. http://www.winamp.com/plugins/browse.php?search=yes&filter=C&query=vidamp
