PLEASE don't patronize sites that spew hate |
|
Page hits allow this scum to sell banner ads, and only encourage them. Discussion is pointless and give them publicity and an audience.
You know the site I'm talking about.

1. I don't think page hits amount to much revenue... |
|
Edited on Fri Jul-08-05 10:43 AM by youspeakmylanguage
...and it's counterbalanced by the cost of the wasted bandwidth, as long as you don't click on any ad banners or graphics.
It isn't 1999 - there aren't many websites left that produce a profit without some sort of subscription service, pay-to-view premium content, or steady donations. The sites that still gain a significant profit from ad revenue have to maintain millions of clicks a week.
It's important to know your enemies.

3. Please tell me something important |
|
that I can learn at Scamdy.com. These people aren't my enemies, they're worthless, insignificant crap with a platform.
You're wrong about the page hits. That's what banner ad revenue is based on.
Honestly. I won't go there, so I'm curious.

7. Most banner ad revenue is based on click-throughs... |
|
...not page hits. No one is getting rich off of Internet ads except for the major players like Yahoo!.
You didn't mention Scamdy. I thought you were referring to FR or another site that isn't mentioned here.

12. I just went to that site... |

...and there doesn't appear to be any advertising at all. So basically every time someone visits the site, it is costing the owner of the site bandwidth and he doesn't appear to have anything to offset that cost.
From what I saw, there doesn't appear to be much of anything there. Even their message boards are pathetically empty. I wouldn't lost too much sleep over it.

...that's akin to calling for a Denial Of Service (DoS) attack. It's very, very illegal.

It might not be the classiest thing, but I think what they did is a bit shittier than what I could ever come up with.

15. Of course, NOTHING is lower-class than THEM. But we're better than them, |
|
aren't we?
I hate the fuckers as much as anyone (well, maybe not as much as the people who were close to Andy; I cannot imagine how bad they must feel). But I won't stoop to their level, or even anything close.
Just my opinion.

17. I had a feeling we'd end up agreeing. We all tend to pop our |

corks under stress...I did it last night, several times.
Part of the grieving process.
