You don't summarily use that line as a pointer for the middle of your vehicle, you're supposed to see TWO lines and park your rusted pickup truck BETWEEN them.

Idiot nitwits...

3. No. Angry at the selfish thoughtless pricks who seem to dominate our roads

I'd genuinely BECOME a traffic enforcement officer just to try to balance the scales a bit.

Of course, these selfish vermin would probably shoot me because I imposed on their freedom...

10.  I'm surprised
anyone ever agrees with me at all...

Maybe it's the new andi-depressant's unintended side-effect of irritability or that I'm just a person not suited to have a lover, I don't know. I jsut recall the stupid dangerous things people do and it's catching up with me.

11. Small evils can be the most irritating.
Everyone hates Hitler, for example, but what about $2 ATM fees?

2. parking is my biggest pet peeve.
Edited on Fri Jul-08-05 11:17 AM by LastKnight
i rant and rave about the idiots taking up more than one spot with their big vechiles, and whoever im with usuially says 'hey give em a break their hard to drive and park' well, one thinks that before youre allowed to have one you should know how to use correctly, yes? perhaps there is some sort of test we can administer so it means that not just anyone can drive, hmm? oh, there is? in that case... they need to learn to follow the fucking rules.

7. Exactly. Driving isn't learning how to tie shoelaces...
For one thing, they make laceless shoes. Do they make cars that drive people? (Indirectly, in a way... they're called busses...)

Driving, like computing, requires a little intelligence (though anyone can make a mistake, there still needs to be a core level.) Not as much passing a multiple choice test as it is proving to many people you CAN drive responsibily, not just one. (too many high school drunk brats playing 'chicken' with cars as they speed on freeways should have their licenses suspended for life and beyond. The day they tried that shit with me was the day I bought a cell phone and call EVERY insane driver to 911, I'm fuckin' tired of these asswipes out to satisfy their jollies in such a potentially destructive manner; driving is no joke. At least to people who give a damn about life.)

8. I always said.. if you cant park/drive the car.. then DONT DRIVE IT.
Just another hazard on the road. Ive seen way too many oversized cars taking up both lanes on a busy highway because they dont know where their car is. Honk at them and you see them hurry and jerk the car to their own side and then give you a dirty look.

5. In my younger days, I used to squirt packages of ketchup under door handle
when I saw a car taking up two spaces.

Now I know better. Corn syrup in the gas tank is much better. :-)

21. my bf and i use an animal urine scent (i can't remember which one)
we bought at a local outdoor store for just this reason. when we see some ass who can't or won't park correctly we just put a little spray on the door handle. i used to leave notes "learn how to park, ass" or something like that but i had been caught and threatened a few times. when it cools off (ha) i want to sit around for the person to come out and see their reaction.

6. Hypnotoad, you have to understand that their vehicles are far more
important than yours! That's why they NEED 2 spots (at least!) to park their behemoth vehicles so that they can be SURE they don't get scratched or scuffed.

Now your car, PUHLEAZEE! It deserves to get dinged up.

12. Or the jerk that hits their door off of your car...
So ignorant.. I'm 8 months pregnant and I dont swing my door all the way out and whack the next car. Its called respect of someone elses property!! Something a lot of people lack.

22. what about the people who slam their door into your car while you are
sitting in it? this has happened a few times to me and only once did the person look embarrassed and apologize. usually they either ignore me or look at me like somehow i caused it. i drive a small car and i am never very close to a line so it isn't MY fault.

13. Good point! Maybe I ought to do the same...
People dent mine all the time as if they don't have a care in the world. I don't do the same to them and, my god, I've even conscientious of THEIR cars; talk about an alien attitude...

I must really hate America. :sarcasm:

9. I used to love parking close to people that did that
Back in college a had a beat up old van. Anytime I saw someone parked taking two spaces so no one would bang their car I would park real close to them. I wouldn't touch them or hurt their car. What were they going to do about it? Put another ding in my van?

14. Yup, my DH calls himself "The Parking Lot Avenger"
because he has a very banged up old Miata.

It's small enough that he can squeeze into what's left of a space when some jerk is way over the line. Leaving Mr. Jerk with a very difficult problem getting out of where he's put himself.
And Mr. Jerk's vehicle is invariably way more spendy than the Miata, so he wouldn't want to bang into it out of spite.

It's lots o' fun!!
:D

16. I plead guilty - so sorry.
Edited on Fri Jul-08-05 11:37 AM by HopeLives
I have a small car but occasionally I have to take my husband's truck.

I have a difficult time adjusting to the dimensions of the truck so while I don't take up 2 spaces I often end up close to one of the lines rather than right in the middle.

Mostly I park at the far end of the parking lot where there aren't any other vehicles.

And p.s. I would never take his truck to a mall, using the truck to go shopping is for emergencies only.

23. I sometimes use my wet finger on their huge rear windows and write
LEARN TO PARK!!!

it is one of my pet peeves, to not know the size of the automobile you drive so you know how it fits not only in a parking space but also on the road in relationship to the universe you inhabit with other cars. "I don't know where the front of my auto ends and the next car is so, I'll just leave about 3 car lengths to make sure at a stop light " same person parks their car over the lines in two spaces. end rant.
