I just saw the stupidest thing ever
well since the last presidential press conference.

I'm in my room at the Stardust in Vegas (I have already lost my self-imposed gambling limit of $100) and I wanted to keep the housekeeping person from barging in. So I go to put the "Do Not Disturb" thingy on the outside door knob. But it says "Maid Service Please" ON BOTH SIDES! :wtf: good is that? Is my room going to be twice as clean?

1. They're trying to tell you not to stay in your room :) If you're in the
room, you aren't giving them your money :)

2. Doesn't matter if they barge in 'cuz you know what they say
"what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas". I would call the desk and ask them for one that is not so redundant. And extra soap! Make them wonder...

3. My sister is a cocktail waitress at Harrahs
One morning about 2:00am, Dennis Rodman was walking around the casino in a towel, flashing everyone.

I guess he was staying there, because he was already thrown out of all the good joints.

5. one could deduce that the lack of a sign on the door meant
'do not disturb' and that one could expect maid service only if the sign is on the door. but that's just my logic.

6. Here's a dumb 'do not disturb' story
I used to work production support for newspapers and would be in the press room until 1:00am, so I tended to sleep late the next morning. I put my 'Do Not Disturb' sign out so the maid would skip me and the front desk called on the phone asking if I needed my room cleaned. Hello?! Do not disturb doesn't mean, don't knock but have the front desk call. Sheesh.

7. I was in Vegas a couple of weeks ago
they don't want you in your room, we were out of the room like 18 hours a day. I gambled too much and drank too much, but damn if it wasn't a good time. It's kind of strange going through the casino floor on your way to breakfast and you see people already drinking beer and other booze at 10am.
