I love it when I go to GD and post something serious, and people who disagree make some snide comment to "go back to the Lounge" or whatnot. They see themselves "above" posting on non-political topics or socializing. We're "frivolous", and meanwhile they are 'solving the world's problems' (by posting on a message board!). :eyes:

Although politics largely drove us here, life is way too rich and deep to insult it so one-dimensionally. We are whole human beings, more than the sum of our political beliefs.

As a rule, I don't trust people who take themselves so seriously that they cannot let their guard down and their humanity show beyond the narrow spectrum of politics. It's rather fanatical, and humorless.

So yeah, here's to the Lounge, and the outlet for our three-dimensional selves it allows us to be! :toast:
