A question for the doctors in the house...

I have had sinusitis for about a week and a half. I'm on the tail end of it now after going on a penicillin regiment.

Driving to lunch, I blew my nose. I didn't realize how hard I was blowing until I felt a huge pressure in my ear. Suddenly I lost my equilibrium, almost drove off the road, and felt a very faint buzzing in the ear. My ear felt inflated, like I had just stepped off of an airplane.

It stayed that way until I was waiting in line at the pizzeria, when it suddenly popped (just like after flying). It seems normal now.

Question: Did I almost blow out my eardrum?

2. I'm not a doctor (far from it) but...

...I have that happen to me quite often and I've never had sinusitis. I think that sometimes I just blow too hard and if I blow my nose while closing one nostril it's more likely to happen. I get very dizzy and have to sit down. With me it usually passes after a minute or two.

On edit: But I agree with Shell Beau. Call your doctor if you're concerned. The mods don't allow medical advice on the board.
