Anybody here like Yerba Mate?

Got hooked on the stuff in SA.

How do you drink it?

I got tired of the mate and bombilla ritual, so I just pump it through a French press, now.

Oh...and have to have it sweet.

I used to get heartburn from my morning coffee and switched to Yerba Mate complete with mate and bombilla every morning.

I've since found that it was dark roasts that were my problem and roast my own coffee now without incident.

But I still keep Yerba Mate on hand but drink it less frequently. Also I carry it in my backpack teabag form and drop a tea bag or two in a cold bottle of water for a quick afternoon pick-me-up.

4. I find that the pick me up from mate is a lot more mellow

than from coffee. Lasts longer too.

I'll have a cup of joe, and crash about lunch. With mate, I'm good until 4 or 5 PM
