I was driving home last night whilst listening to an oldies station. They were taking requests. Someone called in and requested one of Cat's songs. The DJ said over the air "I can't play that."
Apparently it's a Clear Channel thing.

People were calling in for Cat songs. The DJ said over the air that corporate policy states that he can't play it. He actually said "Forget them. Cat Stevens wrote some of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard and I will play them. If we could all live in the world that he dreams about in some of his songs we would be living in a heaven on Earth. Keep calling in w/ your Cat requests!"
I think he was fired. I haven't heard him in awhile.

Playing music in a heavy red area. He dedicated Peace Train to quite a few people that day that would not be too happy w/ that song.
Probably got canned. I quit listening to the station after I no longer heard him on the air.

And I live down the road from Whiteman AFB. We had TK songs even invading the fireworks display this year.
This area is full of freepers, RR's, neocons and chickhawks. I'm sick of it. It didn't used to be.
