I'd like to compliment the mods |
|
That use their own handle when locking a thread. I never realized how much more I appreciate it when they do that

I did request the lock, but I still thought it was a nice touch, nonetheless.

I have been around here long enough to know the proper temperment to maintain so when i get a little loud and persistent I can sense when i am probably crossing the line. Sometimes I am so heated up about something I am willing to deal with the consequences. So i can't really be mad when I am aware I am crossing the line a bit despite how angry and annoying to you I might be while it is going on..

you both rock...as do other mods who do this.
I appreciate that sometimes these two will give gentle guidance in a thread before they lock.

33. Hi Kathy, we don't follow our convictions |
|
we follow the rules and guidelines set by the administrators.
I put in my two cents about how I feel about a subject, but sometimes others don't agree...and sometimes they do. The system works really well I think.

Just a reminder though....Locking Mods never make a decision alone. Decisions are made by concensus....That's why it sometimes takes time to get responses to alerts.
Alerts by the way are really helpful to us. I for one want your eyes and your input into what goes on here in our community.
You all are great........even if I have to lock your threads sometimes.

31. I'd like to defend the use of the "moderator" tag. |
|
Moderators always reach some sort of consensus before locking a thread. However, in the past, some members have detected some sort of bias in a particular moderator because they are "officially" the one who locked the thread. I think that the "Moderator" tag is important at times, especially in areas of extreme controversy, to protect an individual moderator from unfair accusations when they are, in fact, acting as a spokesperson for the whole group.

I think there are cases - the exception, not the rule - in which locking as moderator has some very valid justifications. That needed to be pointed out here, thanks for doing it!

Such brave souls. I know sometimes they may take some slack from some members but when they use their handle, at least they give us the chance to ask questions as to why they locked a thread, etc.
