Am I the only one who isn't impressed by Rob Thomas
sorry, he does nothing for me and I'm not a fan of his music either. I thought Matchbox 20 was too much of a wuss band. Not sure why he went solo - he's just doing more of the same

2. Slightly more impressed with him solo...but really don't care. Tom Cruise
is rumored to have slept with him....meh.

But, I do give Rob props for somehow managing to *have* a solo career after that horrible matchbox twenty thing. And I read his interview in Entertainment Weekly, and he seems like a personable enough guy.

8. Yeah, I heard those rumors too
http://www.thesuperficial.com/archives/001038.html

Basically Katie was like 5th or 6th on a list of B-list actress that Tom sought out for marriage material to help cover the fact that he's gay. Katie signs the contract, gets the boost of being 'Mrs Tom Cruise' (Hell Nicole Kidman was a nobody until she hooked up with him) and in 5 years divorce is filed.

Personally, I have a feeling that Katie isn't going to go anywhere. The fact that the Batman Begins folks didn't bring her back for the sequel pretty much tell you that's she's destined to be a b-lister

11. I kept hoping Carlos would come out for a song on the Thomas set
it would have picked up the set and generated a little excitement for sure

9. I'm merely disturbed by his latest need to don leather pants and
do mild) pelvic gyrations. Who told him to do that?

12. The music co., prolly....and that's a hot look, I'll tell you what.
Nothing says "Unthreatening" like leather pants and mild pelvic gyrations!!

But he does look kind of hot in that video with his swaying hips, LOL.

That's an important distinction, surely. I think suede would suit Rob better. All soft and stuff....awww.

10. Nasal Rock
Whinge cringe cry, and sing out from not your diaphram, but from your resonant nasal cavities. That was (is?) the recipe for pop rock (emo-ish) for the past 10 years or so. It's like when everyone was copying Bob Dylan's singing style. Is matchbox 20 the quintessential post-grunge whiney guy rock band?

His teaming up with Santana was so dull I don't even like Santana anymore. I was glad for his success, but Supernatural was DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!

15. Personally, I was more impressed with Maroon 5's performance..
..than his. But I have a feeling that Adam Levine will be another Rob Thomas.

19. I agree.
There's way too many people in that friggin band, and I don't know any of them but Adam Levine. Sometimes in bands, you can tell they're a *band*. In Maroon 5, in my mind, there's Adam....and some other guys he seems to like....

24. I only liked "Push" and "Smooth"(with Santana)
Matchbox 20 was like Hootie. Evertyhing sounded too much the same. I can give musicians that they should have a "sound", but you should be able to tell songs apart.

I like pop music, though, and am proud of it. I thought his solo CD was pretty non-descript, but I still find Yourself Or Someone Like You to be a well-constructed CD. I feel the same way about the other Matchbox Twenty CDs as I do his solo album.
