Personally, I don't get how he works ALL the time and has worked with some of the bigger names (Dennis Quaid, Julia Roberts-Mona Lisa Smile, etc.)

I don't get it or his appeal.

1. Me!
I think he's adorable and very likely the next Tom Hanks.

Having seen half of one of his films, LOL, I can make that estimation.
Thank you very much.

2. I think he's a good actor, he just needs to fill out some
He's too scrawny for my tastes. But I think he has the talent to go far. I agree with the other poster, he could be a future Tom Hanks

3. Good enough for me.
Two people weighing in that they find him to be talented is enough to make me take another look.

Maybe the work I've seen wasn't his best...

6. Small part in Traffic
As Michael Douglas's daughter's boyfriend.

Mostly known as the star of That 70's Show.

Been in three movies in the past year or so, getting good reviews for In Good Company where he played Dennis Quaid's young new boss.

Next role is in Spiderman 3.

5. I like him a lot
I think he is managing his career very wisely, doing small parts in good films and gradually working his way up. If he continues to grow as an actor and make good choices some day Ashton Kutcher will be referred to the way Peter Scolari is now. Although I think Scolari is very talented, far more than Kutcher, but usually he is known as the guy who was in Bosom Buddies with Tom Hanks.

7. Exactly.
I like Topher. It will be interesting to find out what kind of chops he has.

8. When "That 70s show" started I thought he was a weak actor
But the more I watched him I really started to think he was pretty good. He is pretty funny and can do a lot of facial expressions that are good.

9. I find him very bland
He doesn't bother me, but I find he doesn't add much to any production in which he acts.

10. This is how I feel about him, too. I'm willing to watch him in
something else to be fair. What I've seen him in up to this point, he just bores me.

12. LOL! Traffic, Mona Lisa Smile and That 70's show...
I'll admit he's had 'moments' on that 70's show.

I'm amazed that he seems to land one big project after another--pretty big deal in Hollywood.

Oh and I saw a teeny, weeny bit he did in I think it was Ocean's Eleven(?).

14. Problem solved!
I agree he's working a lot, which seems to bode for how people in the industry regard him, anyway. Traffic I've not seen, but like you, I did find him interesting sometimes in "That 70s show" (when I watched it). He was kind of the workhorse/straight man on the show, though, but he interested me enough to wonder what else he could do.

I caught Ocean's Twelve (LOL) the other night, there he was, briefly, and his part in ML Smile was nothing at all.

But I saw him in "Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!" (he was one of the stars of that, with Kate Bosworth and some other guy)-- the half I saw he was charming in that Hanksy everyman sort of way. I don't think he's done substantial work yet, but I just get that vibe from him.

In Good Company is supposed to be a pretty good look at him, which I've not seen.

13. I hate him....
He can't even live up to my name, Christopher I mean come on what's with this Topher Shit...

What kind of hollywood liberal bullshit is this....

Anyway, he's alright, very bland, I like the example given that he has a few facial expressions that work, so did Soupy Sales....

The Next Tom Hanks,,,,,

He's like Ashton Crusher with out the giggle.....

Puff, a breath of air...

16. Soupy Sales!!!!!
Edited on Sat Jul-09-05 01:18 PM by givemebackmycountry
You made my day!
I watched him when I was a kid religiously.
I loved him, and what was that puppets name..."Fang" or "Pookie" was that it?

I remember the show ( I think it was a New Years Day show) where he asked all the little children to "go get daddy's wallet" because "daddy and mommy were asleep because they stayed out all night"

"Take all the green paper out of Daddy's wallet and send it to Soupy Sales at WNEW New York"

They took him off the air for like two weeks after that one.

I guess he got a couple of grand from the little tykes!

18. Well, he is very "white" -
he grew up in Connecticut, by the way. But you know, there's a place for white people too.

He kind of makes me think of what Bob Newhart might have been like as a young man. He's definitely got that kind of low-key, dry, good-timing comedic talent that Bob has.
