Anyone with a cat on their laps right now? |
|
Mine is! It's Fud's favorite spot when we're typing. He channels ideas to me...

3. Mine like it there, too. |

Such an inconspicuous vantage from which to regally survey their domain. Equal parts crafty and goofy.

My guys trade off. Romeo stays put on my lap. Maynard likes to lay in front of the keyboard, and Spike comes and goes like any other cat with ADD.

who will get off my lap and onto the desk/keyboard as soon as she spots the mouse arrow move on the screen. Then when it goes off the edge of the screen she'll look behind the monitor to see if it's THERE. I use to think this indicated high smarts, except it's been going on for over a year now with no sign of learning...

I adopted Fuddy in 1993 when I was in college (my neighbors were going to dump him and his sister, Charlotte). They had named them Troillis and Cressida (they were English doctoral students) which were far too pretentious for me. The cats were young, they never came to those names, and my then roommate dared me to rename Troilis "Fud" after the Larson cartoon, which I did (his sister is now Charlotte, after Charlottesville). "Fud" has turned out to really suit the sweet bugger. I have the Larson cartoon framed in my room. 12 years later, our family's all here with just a few more happy additions.:grouphug:

10. I had to give my Fudster away |

when my other two cats (not the ones I have now) decided to tag-team starve him. I still feel horrible about it. He was a great cat: "tabby-point" Siamese.

11. I now have to feed my Fudgie in seclusion, too... |

He's definitely the omega of the five. Wonder if it's something we did to them psychologically with the name "Fud"?
