Poll question: Is it Humid where you live? |
|
I was in Louisiana in June once...damn. It was like being on another planet. No such thing as leaving your window open for a nice breeze. No joggers. My glasses fogged up. Crazy. Then I went back to CA where everything is "normal".

I'M the one who coined "Louisiana = Venus". Such a strange place. Fun, but strange. I'm telling you...literally not one jogger.

13. Yes, when a hurricane knocks out your power, |
|
you really don't have a choice unless you pony up big bucks for a generator. One of my colleagues decided to get a natural gas powered generator that automatically kicks in if the power goes out after the hurricanes last year. Me, I just tend to bug out of the area and stay at a hotel. :-)

16. In the winter, no problem |
|
In the summer, you would not want to try it unless you like dripping with sweat while sitting on your couch watching TV.

Or did you move there from somewherez else? Cuz I heard that people who live in the deep south actually "acclimate" to that shyte weather. Is it true?

12. I moved here (FL) from CA |
|
a while back. Yes I've acclimated. I actually breathe better with the humidity, but it did take a while.
Living on the beach helps, I suppose. The sea breeze keeps everything much cooler than even an hour inland.

So, humidity is pretty brutal this time of year. You begin sweating about sixty seconds after you go outside.

But you actually get acclimated to an extent. I still go out for my 3 mile walks, even in the afternoon, I just drink plenty of water.

23. I agree with you, I have a dog to walk everyday so I now have gotten |

used to the weather. Water, water, and more water before, during and after.
I grew up withour AC, houses used to be built for that.

Last week I experienced the "fogged up" glasses for the first time. I'm originally from Southern CA, but I'm in Long Island right now. Some summer days can be pretty humid, though its been nice out this week...it's also been relatively cool out.
