My ex and I used to live by the Stadium - only a couple of days after we moved in, there was a takedown right below our balcony. Not that long ago, we also witnessed a carjacking there, too.

An interesting area to live in...

I am still trying to get out!!!! We just had a few weeks of really bad weather...a few tornadoes. Thank G-d, no deaths. I have a brother in Kenya now setting up AIDS education centers and providing vaccines. He will return at the end of this month. So, now all my brothers (3) have been overseas and I haven't and I am the only one who is a polyglot! Oh well! I am happy for him, no sour grapes...well, maybe a few. :)

If I could get just a pinch of your positive attitude, it would be great. The past few weeks have really not been good. I go through the motions, but I feel like my hamsters running on a wheel. But, I know there must be a reason, so I do what I need to do and am thankful for my family, my love, and my health.

I hope things are well on your side of the world! And, who knows, I may just one day pop up on the Continent! :)

In fact, I have several Swiss Army knives. One is a real one, very old and once belonged to my husband's grandfather, and very unlike the Swiss Army knives of today. And I have three or four more modern Swiss Army knives: brushed aluminum, two reds and a green.

Why do you ask?

88. You're going to be disappointed, gmoney . . .
I have absolutely no interest in being in the Louvre, or any museum or gallery for that matter. I don't do gallery exhibits. I show my work in independent shows, and in an annual exhibit-in-atelier, and though it's a more difficult path, there's a profound pleasure in developing relationships with a few enthusiastic collectors of my work, than in kissing the butts of gallerists and collectors who want a painting for a beige wall.

(But thank you for the nice words, my friend. Smooch.)

I graduated Westlake in 1975....

I saw the numbers band all over the place... Still active I believe...

But the BBR was put together by the gal who use be the editor of the Cleveland Edition....

She is pissed because she started this really neat little venue in an area of Cleveland that really needed a shot in the arm...

There is development all around her...

She did it wo any help from City Hall, a rareity in Cleveland these days,,,,

Then, about two years ago, the city powers that be approached the House of Blues, gave them a tom of money to build right off public square on Euclid and basically undercut this home grown business....

The Euclid Tavern was another monument to great music; I saw so many great band there. A part of me is really scared to go back because I know alot of the places I loved are gone and it'll kill me to see that close up. Do you know if The Variety Theter on Lorain Avenue off w. 117th ST is still standing? God, that was another place I loved; Tony's Diner just up the street, too..

And, the Variety I believe is a gathering space for Muslims.....

But, there are a lot of good things too...

Like the Beachland Ballroom

And Crocker Park, although capitalism at it's most naked state, is cool.......

It is a consious effort to blend retail, professional offices and living in a neighborhood setting....

A little to Potemkin right now but I think it will find it's own charactor before lone

44. Oh, nice, Enigmatic.
And not a word about bringing Mrs. Enigmatic to Switzerland to meet up with Mr. Heidi and me for a few beers and tunes.

57. OK, you're forgiven.
I watched "The Big Chill" last night and it got me to thinking about how I miss my American friends, who are are a little different than my European friends. Difficult to explain, but probably has something to do with a shared culture and similar life experiences.

66. I understand that..
I love it here and it's become my home, but I do, too. I can only imagine how hard it would be half a world away from them; I guess I'm lucky in that sense..

69. Same here.
I feel as though I belong here; it's "home" now. But it's difficult to explain certain life references to people who didn't grow up with them. Arrrrrgh. I'm not so articulate this morning.

28. Yar. Avast, me hearties. I'm here.
I'm a pirate tonight.

I've found that, empirically, people are nicer to you if you are a pirate, rather than a veg*n.

Care for some rum? I have spodie, if that's more culturally appropriate.
