1. EXCELLENT news
This is a step in the right direction to have the Yankees start hitting w/ RISP. Failing to do that damned them all year (except Matsui, that man was CLUTCH!).
Methinks that Donnie is going to be on a short leash given his history w/ the Boss..in other words, if the Yanks don't hit w/ RISP from day 1, he might be fired the next day.
I hope he FINALLY gets his fawking ring..it always saddened me to see that he never even got to play in the WS.

3. yeah...
Don Mattingly was definitely a bright spot in a mediocre 80's-90's Yankee team. I was always a Mattingly fan. (Even when they released his 1989 Topps card that made him look like he had a butt on his chin)

2. Well I still hate the Yankees
but I never had any problem with Mattingly. I'm sure he'll make a fine coach.

4. my favorite Yankees player ever too.........

i'm happy that he will be back in pinstripes but I hate to think the crap he'll have to put up with from you know who......a great Yankees legend and class act like Donnie deserves great treatment and respect from the organization ( he already has it ETERNALLY from the fans)......we'll see........
