Since when did it become ok to sign a flag?
All these freepers freak out about how it's so awful to burn this piece of cloth in protest, but why aren't they freaked out when people sign the flags or wear them as dresses and shirts? They sure as hell freaked out when Larry Flint wore one as a diaper!
The reason I ask is in Oklahoma our Lt. Gov, a woman who has been Lt. Governor for more than a decade now, has decided to take our state flag, have people sign it, and send it to Britain to show support in light of the terrorist attacks. Whatever. I think it's stupid and lame.
What do you think?

1. She is stupid and should be put in jail

Can you imagine what would happen if a Democrat did that stunt,

These Freepers are truly losing it.

2. There is an old Toadish proverb that I believe works here:
"You cannot lose what you never initially had."

3. I don't know about state flags, but it's illegal to sign an
American Flag. In my e-mail at work, I have a picture of Bush signing the flag with the statute he violated in doing so, but I can't access it here. I'm sure someone here has seen it, though.

4. It's lame, it's stupid, and it violates the US Flag Code.

Sec. 8. — Respect for flag
No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America;
(snip)
The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.

Of course, no one's been arrested under the US Flag Code that I can recall...

Your Lt. Governor no doubt got the 'inspiration' from her "Fearless Leader" SpongeHead Dumbass.

6. I swear I remember seeing a picture of Bush signing a flag
I think it was during the 2000 campaign.

I was somewhat taken aback when I saw that.

7. What I want to know
Is what's the deal with flag worship? It's a piece of cloth with a design on it. Sure it's representative of where you're from, but when it comes down to it, it's just cloth with a design on it.
