War of the Worlds
Today we are going to catch the Sunday afternoon showing of War of the Worlds in a beautiful restored theater in Attica, Indiana. If this flick is half as good as all the hype I been hearing, it'll be awesome in this theater. The owner of this recently restored theater put in one of the best sound systems I have ever heard in any theater. I'm hoping for a two hour roller coaster ride!

1. I saw it last night. It was entertaining, I thought the ending was
a little flat- the movie seems to fly, but plenty of awesome destruction scenes with people getting vaporized. Of course, I was rooting for the aliens the whole time. I think they could have done more with this movie.

2. Sounds great. I loved "W of the W". Cruise is fantastic.
I love those old restored movie palaces. We have one in Chicago called "The Music Box"- it has clouds that float over the ceiling and stars too. On the weekends there is an organist who plays show tunes and sometimes sing alongs - stuff you would never get at a Cinemax, that's for sure.

3. Saw it last week - still prefer the 1953 version
Don't get me wrong - there's lots to love in the Spielberg version, including the SFX and the performances. But there are elements of the story that just don't make sense.

5. The best flick we ever seen in this theater was Saving Private Ryan

6. If thats the case
then WoTW will totally utilize this theaters equipment. The highlight for me was the super giant screen and THX sound system I saw WoTW on.

7. WoW sucks.
What the fuck was the ending? Aliens have laid waste to Boston, but some how Cruise's wife and her entire fucking family are just honkey-dorey in their little house, completely oblivious that aliens went on a rampage?

And what the fuck? A "virus" kills the aliens? Give me a fucking break. This movie was lame.

8. The ending sir
was a classic combination of Spielberg never knowing how to end a movie with CSS (Classic Spielbergian Sappiness). I have come to expect both of those and judge the movie on how it does besides those two expected qualities. I have a feeling Cruises' wife and family were aware of the attack but somehow satyed safe in their home.

The "virus" that kills the aliens is true to the H.G. Welles story.

9. Hey...I'm from Indiana...
saw it in Muncie last weekend. It was good. Followed the book pretty well. The special effects were awesome. I'm no Cruise fan, but liked it.
