...and when I used to go with her for visits, I always squeezed in visits to Jimboy's.
It's the missing link between Taco Bell and a great "sit-down" Mexican restaurant. KILLER Mexican food.

Too bad we don't have one around here.
On edit: It's probably for the best that we don't have one around here. I'd weigh 800 pounds.

Oh, eight or 10 at a time! For those who aren't familiar, think White Castle, but without the little holes in the patty. Little Square Belly Bombs, three bites per burger! Finest Kind!

|

I am a vegetarian, but even in my meat-eating days, I would never eat a MacDonald's or Burger King hamburger. When I ate hamburgers, I preferred cooking them myself. At least I knew what was in them.

I won't really include Rubio's because they're too expensive and serve beer, they are kind of in between fast food and "regular restaurants".

17. McDonald's...sigh....I keep coming back.... |
|
I like some of the others...but McDonald's is the best for crap food in a quickie.
Like White Castle's burgers, but the fries are gross.
Like Popeyes, but that's more of a sitdown thing IMO. Same with KFC, whose biscuits kick so much ass I used to go there just for them.
Burger King I don't like so much. Wendy's I like for the baked potatoes and the chili, but there's too much bun in their burgers, seems to me.
McDonald's. Perrrrrrfect. Yummy McFlurries...Quarter Pounders...salads... but apparently, eating it every day will just about kill you.
Sigh.

For whatever reason, their burgers taste almost exactly like how my grandmother made burgers. Their burgers are really the only burgers that I get fast food now. Aside from that, I like the Wisconsin sub chain, Erbert's and Gerbert's. I usually can eat a sub from there even if I don't want to eat food.

48. I removed Rubio's from the running because the expense and the fact |
|
that they serve alcohol kind of puts them in an "in between" category for me, between "fast" and restaurant food.
I remember there was a big deal about Rubio's trying to expand nationally a few years ago... anyone know if they had much success outside of CA?

Little veg/*n place out in Fair Oaks, where they have really nummy nut-based veggie burgers they make themselves, and thier awesome Sunflour bakery cookies, which are one of my favorite indulgences.
Also, thier fresh orange juice is the best I've ever had. They get the sweetest oranges ever, I swear.
