Help! I just got TiVo and now record random shows!

1. No, I turned off the

record suggestions. Not because it wasn't accurate, but because it was recording so much stuff I didn't have time to watch, and didn't leave room for the stuff I was interested in.

What I was talking about was that I keep browising the on-screen TV guide, seeing shows that remotely interest me, and setting it to record. I've actually filled it up myself, but what you seem to be talking about is a whole new world -- this is getting dangerous.

4. Yes, by voting with your red and green buttons

giving shows a :thumbsup: or :thumbsdown: and having "record suggestions" set to yes in your preferences, it will automatically record certain shows for you, without your prompting it.

8. The TiVo will always delete suggestions to make room for the shows you

choose to record. It deletes suggestions first.

(Even so, I have autorecord turned off for suggestions — but I check the list every few days. I've found lot of good stuff there!)

I was watching football at a buddy's house and during the game, Tivo suggested the following programs based on his viewing patterns:

Queer Eye for the Straight Guy
Martha Stewart Living
VH1's Top 100 Hollywood Hunks

Pretty hilarious in a roomful of guys watching football...

9. On mine...

I press the DirecTV button and follow the menus. Mine won't record anything if I don't tell it to.
