I did cartwheels in the front yard today...
me and my 6 year old nephew. :) Let me tell you it was an adventure getting my 34 year old body around...I bet I hadn't done a cartwheel since I was 12 or 13. But I did 'em. And it was fun. And I bet Andy was looking down and just cackling madly at me. :)

1. So you're feeling young today?
I did something to my wrist. I'm feeling old today. Sigh.

6. Well, I was feeling young until...
I got about halfway through that first cartwheel. Something in the back of my right leg twinged and I'm hoping if I ignore it it'll go away.

3. Good for you.
I was one of those extremely tall girls whose legs seemed to go every which way...AND loose.

Andy....

8. I know...
I miss him too and it's the little things that keep making me burst into tears. Like wishing I coulda called and told him I did cartwheels. :(

14. Chicago had a DU get-together today....
Everyone who was there were people I had meet numerous times before. I got lots of hugs (thanks all) and showed off photos I had taken of Andy when I visited Seattle two years ago. Everyone enjoyed them. I will send color copies to Benburch to put on his website. It was good to get together with people who also were sad and had known Andy.

There was a wonderful photo my sister took of Andy and me on Christmas. It was a photo that we both liked of ourselves (very unusual for both of us).

I sent it to Andy. When my sister gets back from Washington,DC, I am going to ask her to get a copy to send to Ben (assuming he crops me out of it, LOL).

to talk to people who knew and understood. And here's another one just in case you didn't get enough earlier... :)

19. I am, too.
 to you.

Stayed home from work on Friday. It was a half day anyway with summer hours. Went out for a while, came home and there was a beautiful arrangement of white summer flowers from a la-di-da florist waiting on the porch for me. From work. Started the water works again.

I still can't believe it....

20. Sounds like the folks you work with...
are good people.

I know what you mean about not really believing it yet...every so often something happens and I think "I need to tell Andy about this"...and it's like hearing the news all over again.

21. The people I work with....
Not really. I was gobsmacked. But one had a thought for someone other than themselves for a change.

I totally understand about the "I need to tell Andy about this". It'll take a long time. Worse for Termite and the family, of course.

22. Every so often...
people do something that makes me re-evaluate my belief that people suck. It's nice to see people think of others.

What keeps getting to me...Andy is the first number on the contacts list on my cell phone. I can't bring myself to remove his number.

And so I won't.

God, if I am to get through work tomorrow, I need to go to bed. Sleep well.

24. Thanks...you too honey...
I'm lucky, I don't have to go back til Tesuday...but I have a 6 year old headed over in the morning for one more day with his Aunt Barbara before I have to drive home. He's running me ragged and it's just what I needed.

10. Heeee...it felt crazy
and a little bit daunting after not having done one in nearly 20 years. I think I may have to do them more often. There was something goofy but liberating about just letting go and not caring if I looked like a dork and just DOING it. :)

15. I think it was my nephew's "fault"
He does really bad cartwheels but he doesn't care and he doesn't let that stop him. He just goes out and does them and when he falls over he just giggles and gets up and does another one.

5. I'm 40 something....
keep limber and you'll still be doing them into your 50's.... front handsprings too!

Unfortunately I lost the back handspring about 5 years ago.

11. I used to could do a back handspring...
when I was about 11 or 12. My mom put me in a tumbling class for a couple of summers. Never could do a front handspring though. I never could throw myself forward at the floor and hope I caught myself.

9. I can still do a front handspring
Well, I think I think I can. My father taught me when I was a teen and I got pretty good at it. Actually, I think if I did one right now I would be in traction for a half a year.
