2. No, no, no!
It's "Nibbling on bacon, chewing on cheese," if you're thinking of the song "Muskrat Love." Check link below for chords and full lyrics.

I am ashamed to admit I know the lyrics of "Muskrat Love" have heard at least two versions of it: first America's and then the Captain and Tennille's. The latter was an actual hit.

But the most embarrassing thing of all is that the Captain and Tennille performed "Muskrat Love" for Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip at the White House when President and Mrs. Ford held a state dinner in their honor.

It gets worse. The song DOES deal with -- ahem -- humping muskrats, and Toni Tennille helpfully explained that certain musical passages were meant to convey what it sounds like when a muskrat makes love.

It gets worse. President Ford led the queen to the dance floor and the tune was "The Lady Is a Tramp."

You can't make this stuff up.

5. Yes, that was America.
Apparently they were the first to record it, followed by the Captain and Tennille, or so I've read online. Again, I heard both versions back in the '70s and hadn't really devoted a lot of thought to it lately. Such is the information that occupies the brains of baby boomers...

4. I am surprised no one redid the lyrics for that song
to something that Dr. Demento fans would like. Someone like Weird Al.
