any health nuts in DU?(veganwitch where are you:))
does anybody know of anti-oxidant multivitamins that don't have aspartate or aspartame?

I'm taking the first steps in trying to get rid of the small stuff(that kills) like fluoride, aspartame(nutrasweet) and MSG.

My first step was getting the tom's of maine toothpaste(fluoride-free). I'm going to order a reverse osmosis filter(shower & sink) on the 15nth or the 30th.

4. Yeah
but they put all kinds of shit in the vegetables too. If you want it clean these days you gotta grow it and raise it yourself.

2. Get yourself some gelcaps of flax seed oil
That's one of your richest sources of omega 3-6-9's. Not part of a vitamin, no, but you aren't going to need a lot of supplements if you switch to a diet rich in whole foods.

5. It's cheaper to grind the seeds yourself.
A coffee grinder works fine. Three tablespoons of seed = 1 T oil.

6. Try this bakery without the gelcaps
Edited on Tue Nov-04-03 03:21 AM by Bushfire
I've been eating their bread for years, and it's high in Omega-3's. Coming from a vegetarian too, but I don't preach it. This bakery will ship anywhere, and just came out with a low-carb bread.

on edit: would help if I posted a link

7. I don't really like multi-vitamins
since many of the ingredients cancel each other out or make each other harder to digest (like vitamin E and vitamin C) so you end up taking more than you need.
I was on Dr. Weil's program for a while and felt great-
200 mg vitamin C with breakfast and dinner
vitamin E and selenium with lunch. I can't remember the exact doses but if you google his name you can find it and as far as I remember the pills are standard sized. He recommends a carotene supplement with breakfast as well but they're obscenely expensive and it's easier to just eat a lot of carrots.
Pretty much anything else you can get from a decent diet (unless you're female in which case you should take a calcium supplement as well.)
