Took my 13yo son to see it. He didn't like it that much, he is more into LOTR and Star Wars, but I thought it was awesome. The special effects are incredible.
Now, as a disclaimer, the last movie I went to see for me was the Tom Hanks movie Cast Away (?, is that right), so I am not by any means a movie expert.
I did like Die Hard, Air Force One, etc., so that gives you an idea of my movie tastes.

I have to say, he was pretty good in this film. But, by far, the special effects were the star. They rocked. IMHO, YMMV.
